Alex Rett, Graduate Student

Alex is a fourth-year graduate student in the Department of Psychology at UC San Diego. She received her BSc and MASc from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada where she studied children’s learning and language development. She is broadly interested in how children develop scientific reasoning skills and how cues from the learning environment impact children’s causal reasoning. Specifically, she is interested in whether object design constrains the hypotheses that children make about causal systems. She is also interested in science education and programming for children, and how the lab’s research can be applied to real world learning environments.
